DENTON, Texas – Eastern New Mexico volleyball wrapped-up its final day of the Pioneer/Patriot Invitational by sweeping Pace before falling to Oklahoma Baptist.
The Hounds were able to capture its second win of the 2019 season after handing Pace a 3-0 (25-14, 15-20, 25-14) defeat. Eastern battled hard in the afternoon game but dropped the match in straight sets (14-25, 17-25, 15-25).
The Greyhounds turned in an extremely efficient game against Pace after hitting a combined .520 attack percentage and limiting the Setters to just .152. Senior
Sarah Tuioti-Mariner finished with a game-high 12 kills on 22 total attacks while sophomore
Rae Sapiga totaled 22 assists. Sophomore
Jessica Campbell turned in a solid performance defensively after compiling a season-high 11 digs.
In the second game it was junior
Jasmine Gannon that led the offensive charge as she finished with a game-high 12 kills. Setter
Rae Sapiga added 13 more assists to her total and finished with seven digs.
The Hounds will return home next week as they open Lone Star Conference play against Lubbock Christian Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. inside Greyhound Arena.
