BETHANY, Okla. – The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw in a defensive battle against Southern Nazarene Saturday afternoon.
The Hounds where by far the more aggressive team as they out-shot the Storm 27-11 but were unable to find the back of the net. Eastern was awarded seven corner kicks and put eight shots on goal.
ENMU's defense turned in another strong performance as the Hounds recorded their fourth consecutive shutout. The Green and Silver are one of only five teams to have not allowed a goal so far this season.
Sophomore midfielder
Desiree Morgas tallied eight shots, the highest single-game mark in the Lone Star Conference. Morgas has 18 shots on the year which is the second highest total in the league.
Junior goalkeeper
Whitney Dockweiler continues to be a nightmare for opposing offenses as she finished with three saves and her fourth shutout. The Bellevue, Neb. native is now tied for the fifth-most shutouts in a single season in the program record book.
The Green and Silver will travel to Canyon, Texas next week as they face longtime rival West Texas A&M Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Lone Star Conference opener.
