PORTALES, NM - The Eastern New Mexico football team travels to the University of Texas Permian Basin on Saturday, October 23 for a 5 p.m. Lone Star Conference contest. The game will be played in Midland, Texas at Grande Stadium.Â

HOUNDS' LAST TIME OUT
• The Greyhounds are coming off a 44-24 loss to West Texas A&M University on Saturday, October 16. The contest was the annual Wagon Wheel game.
•
Nathan Valencia finished the game 18-32 passing for 228 yards.
•
Howard Russell led the Hounds on the ground with 45 rushing yards.
•
Justin Manyweather paced the Eastern receivers with 62 yards and one touchdown, while
Bryzai White and
Zachery Fields were close behind with 52 and 49 yards, respectively.
• Defensively,
Cameron Santa Cruz led the way with eight tackles and an interception.
Beau Burns,
Vicen'te Walker, and
Rakeem Hatchett recorded six tackles each.

Kelon Ferdinand and
Mazin Richards each had a sack.
•
Cooper Hamilton finished the game with a 40-yard field goal and 3-for-3 on extra point attempts.
• The Buffs took the 17-16 Wagon Wheel series lead with the victory, and 18-17 overall series lead.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
• UT Permian Basin enters the weekends with a 4-2 overall record and 2-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
• Last weekend, the Falcons fell, 34-14, to Angelo State University.
• Offensively, MJ Link set a career high with 157 yards on six catches along with a touchdown. The 157 yards were the third most in a game in Falcon program history.
• Defensively D'Ondre Robinson had a banner night with 18 tackles.
• Overall on the season, Jayvon Davis averages 59.50 rushing yards per game, while Link is averaging 75.85 receiving yards per game.
• Miquon Mayes paces the defense with 38 tackles this season (26 solo, 12 assists).
AROUND THE LSC
• Midwestern State leads the Lone Star Conference standings as the only unbeaten team at 4-0 in league play. This week's schedule includes three LSC contests and two non-conference games.
• LSC football teams are 29-24 overall this season. The squads are 6-5 combined versus the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and Great Northwest Athletic Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
•The seventh round of LSC Football Players of the Week were announced earlier this week. Zach Bronkhorst of Angelo State was named Offensive Player of the Week, Tobias Harris of West Texas A&M was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Cason Polivoda of West Texas A&M was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
