STAFFORD, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico football team traveled to play North American University on Saturday, November 6. The Greyhounds came away with a 70-21 victory over the Stallions.

North American picked up the first touchdown of the game just under five minutes into the contest but the Hounds quickly responded with a score of their own to less than a minute later to even the game at 7-7.

Eastern continued to rack up the touchdowns in the first half, taking a 42-7 lead at the halftime break.

In the second half, NAU managed to score a touchdown in each quarter but the Greyhound offense dominated to score seven points in the third frame and 21 points in the fourth to earn the 70-21 win.

NOTABLE STATS

• Nathan Valencia completed 19 of 24 passes on the afternoon for 362 yards and five touchdowns.
• Howard Russell led the way on the ground with 131 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.
• Zachery Fields had 121 receiving yards during the contest. Bryzai White had 35 yards catches for three touchdowns, while Justin Manyweather caught two touchdowns.
• Cooper Hamilton finished the game 10-for-10 on extra point kicks.
• Defensively, Beau Burns paced the team with eight tackles. He had 1.5 sacks for 12 yards of loss.
• Cameron Santa Cruz added six tackles, while Rakeem Hatchett was close behind with five.
