CANYON, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team closed out the Pak-A-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic with a 70-66 win over No. 24 Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday night.
The entire game was a battle from the start. Oklahoma Baptist held the advantage for most of the first frame but the Hounds fought back to see three ties and several lead changes in the closing minutes.
Kentrell Pullian netted a layup with three seconds left give Eastern the slim 29-28 lead at the half.
Within the first six minutes of the second half, the Greyhounds went up 10 points. The Bison wouldn't go down without a fight though, coming within one point of the lead twice midway through the frame.
Down by seven points (68-61) with 1:04 left, Oklahoma Baptist hit two free throws, forced an Eastern turnover, and then saw a three-pointer from Jaquan Simms to make it a two-point game (68-66).

Yosnier Cobas scored a layup with five seconds left to secure the 70-66 victory.

NOTABLE STATS
- Pullian paced the Greyhounds with 15 points, while Adam Hess was close behind with 12 points.
- Defensively, Cobas pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Hess, James Jordan, and Jose Serrano each added four rebounds.
- Pullian led the way in assists with five.
- Eastern finished the game shooting 53.8 percent from the floor, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.
- For the Bison, Simms led all scorers with 21 points. Burke Putnum was close behind with 19 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Eastern improves to 3-3 overall, while the Bison shift to 3-3 as well.
- ENMU leads the overall series between the two programs, 5-1. Prior to Saturday's game, the two last met in 1985.
- The Hounds are back in action on Thursday, December 2 when they welcome No. 6 West Texas A&M University to Greyhound Arena for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
