SILVER CITY, NM – The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team fell, 76-70, to Western New Mexico University at Drag's Court on Thursday night.
The Greyhounds held the advantage for the first six minutes of the contest before the Mustangs went on an 11-0 run (13:40-10:11) to gain the lead.
Western New Mexico maintained that advantage through the rest of the frame and went into halftime with a 36-28 lead.
The Mustangs opened the second half with an 8-2 run and never looked back as they held the lead throughout the remainder of the contest.
Eastern came within six points in the final seconds but ultimately, WNMU came away with the 76-70 victory.
NOTABLE STATS
- Four Greyhounds scored double-digits in the contest. Adam Hess led the way with 16 points. Kentrell Pullian added 12 points, while Jose Serrano and Cornell Greenwood netted 11 points each.
- Pullian and Serrano paced the team with six rebounds apiece.
- For the Mustangs, Jordan Doss led all scorers with 19 points. Doss also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
- ENMU finished the contest shooting 41.5 percent on the floor, 40.0 from beyond the arc, and 63.6 percent from the free throw line compared to Western's 43.4 field goal percentage, 42.1 percent from three-point range, and 64.7 percent from the line.

- Eastern shifts to 4-5 on the season, while Western New Mexico improves to 6-2 overall.
- The Hounds hold a 57-48 series lead over the Mustangs. WNMU has won the last two games between the two programs.
- ENMU is back in Greyhound Arena for Youth Day at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 16 against Champion Christian College.
