Soccer Heads To MSU Denver On Sunday

PORTALES, NM - The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer program heads to Metropolitan State University of Denver for a 12 p.m. contest on Sunday, September 19. 

The Greyhounds will be looking to finish off nonconference play with a win before starting Lone Star Conference action next week. 


HOUNDS' LAST TIME OUT

• Eastern is coming off a 2-0 loss to Fort Lewis College on Sunday, Sept. 12.
• The Skyhawks led in shots (17-6) but the Hounds held the advantage in shots on goal (6-5).
Kelsey Medina paced the Eastern offense with two shots on goal.
Whitney Dockweiler had three saves in net and dropped to 2-2-0 on the season.


SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

• MSU Denver has a 2-0-2 overall record. They are coming off a 3-1 win over Hawaii Pacific on Thursday, Sept. 16.
• Scoring for the Roadrunners in that contest were Annie Rolf, Kailey Maness, and Katy Coats.
• Kayla Caballero got the start in net for MSU Denver and made two saves in 60:40 minutes of playing time. Kylie Bach finished out the game and made one save.
• The Roadrunners led the way in shots, 23-6, and shots on goal, 12-5.


SCHEDULE OUTLOOK 

• Following the completion of non-conference action, ENMU welcomes Texas Woman's on Sept. 22 to kick off Lone Star Conference play. The September slate wraps up with road contests at Angelo State on the 25th and Midwestern State on the 29th.
• The Hounds face St. Edward's on October 2 and then travel to St. Mary's on Oct. 9. Oklahoma Christian heads to Portales for a contest on Oct. 13 before Eastern hits the road for an Oct. 16 game at Texas A&M International and an Oct. 20 contest at UT Permian Basin.
• The Greyhounds host Dallas Baptist in Greyhound Stadium on Oct. 23 and then head to West Texas A&M on the 27th. Eastern takes on Texas A&M Commerce on Oct. 30 and Lubbock Christian on November 3 before wrapping up the regular season at UT Tyler on November 6. Lone Star Conference tournament play will begin on Nov. 9.
