Volleyball Welcomes New Mexico Highlands For Home Opener

PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team starts a three-game homestand starting with a non-conference clash against in-state rival New Mexico Highlands University on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. in Greyhound Arena.
 

LAST TIME OUT

ENMU split its opening weekend of conference play, going 1-1 during its trip to Texas. First, the Greyhounds captured a victory against Texas A&M University-Commerce, 3-2, on Friday evening. The following day, the Hounds were held by 25th nationally-ranked University of Texas at Tyler, 3-0.
 

SCOUTING THE HOUNDS

ENMU is averaging 10.6 kills/per set (k/s) in attack, while finding 9.5 assists/per set (a/s). Defensively, the Greyhounds are providing 12.1 digs/per set (d/s), and suppling 1.9 blocks/per set (b/s) at the net.

SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS

New Mexico Highlands comes into Tuesday's contest sporting a 3-7 record, after defeating Chadron State College on Saturday evening, 3-0.

As a team, the Cowgirls are providing 11.9 kills per set, with 10.9 a/s offensively. On defense, NMHU are finding 15.9 d/s and add 1.9 b/s up front.

Lisi Langi is the offensive leader with 3.10 k/s, Terayah Stukes follows with 2.2 k/s. Leading the Cowgirls in assists is Soliel Gandara with 7.38a/s. Defensively, Elena Rivera is finding 4.45 d/s, while Angelina Oliver guards the net with 0.97 b/s.
