MONMOUTH, Ore. – Eastern New Mexico football lost a conference road game to Western Oregon, 46-7, Saturday afternoon.
The Greyhounds began the game with prime field position, but could not come up with scores as a penalty and sack negated the early advantage.
WOU went on to score a touchdown on a lengthy 6:03 drive.
On the following possession, the Hounds showed great sign of life and marched down the field for their only score of the game from a
Howard Russell touchdown run.
The rest of the game went in the Wolves' favor as they scored 39 unanswered points and held ENMU to little success offensively.
Kason Martin threw for 161 yards and
Asa Wondeh finished the game with 68 receiving yards.
Eastern is back at home next Saturday for a matchup with the University of Texas Permian Basin. The game will be Youth/Faith Day and will feature special acknowledgments at the coin flip and during halftime. Tickets are available for purchase at goeasternathletics.com/tickets
