PORTALES, N.M. – ENMU men's soccer finished the season with a 1-1 draw with conference foe, Oklahoma Christian.
"The boys fought," said head coach
Brandon Misuraca. "We lost to this team 4-2 earlier this year and we were able to take a point in this game."
The Eagles struck first early in the eighth minute of play to take the early 1-0 advantage off a set piece free kick.
OCU and Eastern kept the attack opportunities to a minimum over the next 40 minutes as
Paul Waschkau only had to stop one shot in that time period.
The second half was a different story as ENMU took four shots in the first ten minutes.
One of those attempts came off the foot of
Alexandre Meres and the ball ended up being the equalizer in the 53rd minute.
Waschkau needed to save two shots in the final 45 minutes of play, including one in the 87th minute to secure the point for the Greyhounds.
ENMU finishes the season with a 5-8-2 record in the first year back of play since 2019.
