The Greyhounds host the Dustdevils and Javelinas as part of homecoming weekend.

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball will play two matches on homecoming weekend, with a pair of Lone Star Conference matchups. First, ENMU will play Texas A&M International on Neon Night, Oct. 20, with first serve at 6 p.m. Then, Eastern will play Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Oct. 21, while recognizing Jennifer Globe Poyer in the "Honoring #24" match.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Eastern New Mexico look to get in the conference win column this weekend, falling to UTPB, 3-2, and ASU, 3-0, in its last conference weekend. The Greyhounds currently have an 8-15 overall record, with a 0-10 conference record.
  • ENMU come into the match holding opposing teams to a .154 hitting percentage (3rd best in the LSC) and 17.04 digs per set (5th best in the LSC) on defense. The Greyhounds also chip in with 2.17 blocks per set (6th in the LSC). On offense, Eastern provides 11.7 kills per set (k/s) and 11.0 assists per set (a/s).
  • Mikaela Garvin powers the offense with 3.52 k/s, landing 4th best in the LSC, with Gracelyn Stubbs contributing 2.44 k/s. Kayla Ison and Stubbs both average over 4.5 assists per set, running the offense. Getsemani Carrasco is the conference leader in digs per set (d/s) with 5.76 per set. For blocking, the Greyhounds are led by Stubbs (1.04 b/s), Garvin (0.96 b/s), and Deziree Flowers (0.95 b/s).

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS

  • Texas A&M International enter Friday's match following a big 3-1 victory over DBU and winning six of their last seven matches. So far this season, the Dustdevils are 13-6, with a 4-2 conference record.
  • As a team, TAMIU averages 12.2 k/s along with 11.3 a/s on offense. The Dustdevils are very strong on defense, sitting in the top-5 for opponent kills (11.04, 3rd in LSC) and opponent hitting percentage (.150, 2nd in LSC). Additionally, Texas A&M International post 1.8 b/s and 16.6 d/s.  
  • Emma Lade is the standout for the Dustdevils, leading the team and conference with 10.67 assists per set, which is in the top-20 in Division II. Adriana Guerra paces the group with 3.55 k/s, with Mia Molina (2.62 k/s) and Anna Ligart (2.46 k/s) adding to the offense. Giulia Hortelan and Lixai Perez each have over 4.0 d/s, while Jasmin Garcia paces the team with 0.86 b/s.

SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS

  • Texas A&M-Kingsville enter Saturday's match with a 12-6, along with a 4-2 conference record. The Javelinas ended a three-match losing skid last weekend, beating DBU, 3-1, and UT Tyler, 3-0.
  • The Javelinas are finding 12.7 k/s, with a .227 hitting percentage (5th best in the LSC). TAMUK are providing 11.9 a/s on those attacks. Defensively, Texas A&M-Kingsville is a top-five team for blocks (2.23 b/s) with 15.6 d/s.
  • Ayanna Jackson helps the team on offense with an impressive .358 hitting percentage (4th best in the LSC), 2.83 k/s, and a team high 1.06 b/s. Jackie Alanis leads the team for kills (2.92 k/s), while Elisa Carli (5.70 a/s) and Rylan Pollard (4.65 a/s) run the offense. On defense, Isabel Neu leads the Javelinas for digs with 3.32 d/s.
