SAN ANGELO, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer battled Angelo State during a 3-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon at ASU Soccer Field. The Greyhounds slip to 1-7-2 overall with a 0-5-1 conference standing, while the Rambelles shift to 4-6-2, with a 3-2-1 Lone Star Conference record.
The home team wasted no time getting off the mark with an early goal in the fifth minute. After that, the teams were even in their battle for opportunities with Angelo State recording six shots and ENMU finding five shots at halftime. However, in the second period ASU quickly scored a second goal then added a third to put the game to rest.
NOTABLE STATS
- Sarah Tate compiled half of the Greyhounds shots (three) with a pair of shots on goal. Haley Huff, Sierra Villanueva, and Samantha Wood each had a shot on goal during the game. Samantha Jeffries compiled three saves during the match.
- For the Rambelles, Katelin Heise scored the game-winning goal with an assist by Madison Maxey. Grace Jordan and Mariah Griffin's potted the final two goals, with Neleh Coleman assisting the Griffin goal.
- Angelo State posted 14 shots with six on goal, while Eastern picked up six shots with five on target.
