PORTALES, N.M. – An offensive outburst in the third quarter propelled Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball past Cameron University, 60-48, on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Arena. ENMU shift to 11-10 on the season and 8-8 in LSC play. The Aggies slip to 10-13 overall, along with a 7-10 record in conference.
After Cameron started the contest ahead 4-2, the Greyhounds tallied a 10-0 run to swing into a 12-4 advantage.
Lazurea Saunders began the streak with a straight away three pointer, then
Deja Adrian added four points, while
Ashley Shipley converted a layup and hit the following free throw after getting fouled. Eastern held a 15-8 lead after the first quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, Cameron started to chip away at the Greyhounds lead. Eventually, the Aggies took the advantage from the Greyhounds following a 9-0 run in the middle of the quarter to go up 22-21. A three pointer at the end of the quarter, gave the Aggies a 25-23 lead at the break.

Both teams started the third quarter converting from the field, finding success in the paint. However, with the score at 31-31 the Greyhounds opened a 10-0 streak to take a 41-31 advantage.
Edecia Beck started the scoring with a free throw and followed with a three pointer, Saunders and Adrian both recorded layups, and
Bella Stone converted two free throws. ENMU went into the final quarter with a 10-point lead over the Aggies, 42-32.

To open the final period, the Greyhounds started connecting from range, hitting their first four three pointers to go up 54-37.
Corin Camara knocked down two threes in the run, while Adrian and Shipley also splashed a three. The Aggies did their best to chip away at the Hounds advantage, but Eastern maintained their lead to finish the contest ahead, 60-48.
NOTABLE STATS
- Eastern totaled a 31.1% field goal percentage (19-61), 25.0% from deep (7-28), and a 62.5% free throw percentage (62.5%). The visitors were held to just 26.6% shooting (17-64), firing just 23.1% from the three (6-26), and 72.7% at the foul line (8-11).
- Adrian posted 19 points in the contest, finishing 7-15 from the field, 2-6 from deep, and 3-5 from the foul line. Shipley finished with 11 points, while Beck secured a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
- Both Shipley and Adrian finished with eight rebounds, while Stone pulled down seven rebounds.
- Beck added five assists to their double-double, while Shipley and Saunders dished out a pair of assists.
- Defensively, Shipley and Adrian both finished with two assists, and Beck supplied a block.

"Our team made some great adjustments at halftime on both ends," said Head Women's Basketball Meghan De los Reyes. "The third quarter was pivotal as we held them to seven points and pushed the pace of the game to score 19 points of our own. To start the fourth, we hit four threes in a row to give us momentum through the final quarter," said De los Reyes. "Edecia (Beck) had an outstanding game with her defensive effort, consistent rebounding on both ends, and finding teammates with five assists. We're playing together really well and look forward to taking this energy into next week with two of the top teams in our division at home," said De los Reyes.

- Beck supplied their third double-double of the season, previously achieving the feat against UTPB on Dec. 30 (14 pts. and 14 rebs.) and against TAMUK on Jan. 21 (10 pts. and 11 rebs.)
- With the win, ENMU leap Cameron in the LSC standings into seventh place.
- Eastern New Mexico return to Greyhound Arena on Thursday, Feb. 9, when West Texas A&M come to tangle with the Greyhounds. First tip is set for 5:15 p.m.
