ENMU heads to Hobbs, N.M. for a non-conference battle with USW

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball will re-new an in-state rivalry with University of the Southwest (N.M.) on Monday evening on the road. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Eastern enter Monday's contest after a 3-1 record during the 2023 LSC Preview. Playing each match in Greyhound Arena, ENMU picked up a 3-0 sweep against Cameron, and a pair of 3-1 victories over Western New Mexico and Midwestern State. The Hounds only loss came against St. Edward's, 3-1.
  • So far this season, the Greyhounds are finding 12.3 kills per set, along with 11.4 assists per set. Defensively, ENMU's 18.3 digs per set is 4th in the LSC and are holding opposing teams to a .117 hitting percentage (Best in LSC). At the net, ENMU's 2.4 blocks per set are 2nd in the LSC.
  • Kayla Ison helps the offense with a team high 4.86 assists per set, while Gracelyn Stubbs provides 4.80 assists per set. Mikaela Garvin leads the program in kills (3.70 k/s, 2nd in the LSC), with Stubbs (2.68 k/s), and Halle Sanders (1.89 k/s) helping the offense. Getsemani Carrasco leads the conference and the Greyhounds with 6.07 d/s, while Stubbs 1.18 blocks per set are 5th in the LSC. Additionally, Garvin is second in the conference for points per set at 4.59 p/s.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS

  • The Mustangs are still in search for their first win following a pair of losses to Texas A&M-Texarkana, currently holding a record of 0-10. ENMU and USW have already matched up once this season, with ENMU taking a 3-0 sweep over Southwest (N.M.) (25-19, 25-12, and 25-17).
