PORTALES, N.M. – Despite a career high 26 points from
Ishuana Hunter, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball fell at home to Lubbock Christian, 73-57, on Thursday evening at Greyhound Arena. With the defeat, ENMU shift to 5-10 on the season with a 1-8 conference record. The Chaps improve to 13-3, holding an 8-1 Lone Star Conference (LSC) standing.

Both teams started off even after the opening four minutes, prompting Lubbock Christian to open a streak of five straight points to go ahead. LCU kept that five-point cushion after the opening quarter, 16-11. Eastern wasted no time in the second quarter to tie the game, following two baskets from Hunter and
Deja Adrian, along with an
Ashley Shipley three-pointer. Each team continued to trade baskets as the quarter continued, featuring seven lead changes in the final eight minutes of the half. A late three-pointer gave LCU the advantage at halftime, 36-34.

Eastern New Mexico matched the Chaparrals for scoring to start the third period, trailing just three points after the first 4:55 of the frame. From that point, Lubbock Christian closed the stanza on a 13-6 streak to take a 10-point lead into the final quarter, 57-47. During the final period, ENMU did their best to keep pace with LCU but the Chaparrals continued to score, leading by as much 18 points in the final quarter. In the end, Lubbock Christian finished ahead of the Greyhounds 73-57.

- The Greyhounds finished shooting just under forty percent from the floor (39.7%, 23-58), while struggling from behind the arc (12.5%, 2-16), and connecting on nine of 15 free throws (60.0%). Lubbock Christian finished an efficient 49.2% from the field (29-59), connecting on half of their three-pointers (6-12, 50.0%), with a 75.0% free throw percentage (9-12).

- Adrian helped the Hounds effort with 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Jaz Salon, Vanessa Oduah, and Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter each added four points during the game, with three steals from Nansikombi-Gunter leading the team.
