PORTALES, N.M. – Facing a nationally ranked opponent for the second time in as many weeks, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball (3-14, 0-6 LSC) suffered a 3-0 defeat against #9 West Texas A&M (13-3, 6-0 LSC) on Saturday afternoon at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
#9 WT 3, ENMU 0 (18-25, 12-25, 10-25)
Darcy Dodd paced the Greyhounds with nine kills in the match, and also led the team in service aces with two.
Halle Sanders provided five kills to the offense, while
Sophia Valdez contributed four kills.
Both
Cayla Reyes and
Angelina Sanchez finished with nine assists in the match.
Defensively,
Imahni Brown registered a match best 15 digs for Eastern. Dodd and Sanders supplied seven digs each for the team, with Sanchez adding six digs.
Eastern tallied two blocks in the match, as
Randi Crandall provided a solo block and a block assist during the three sets. Sanders picked up a block assist.

- The Greyhounds faced the Lady Buffs for the 89th time in series history.
- Eastern now take a road trip to Texas for their next matches. It begins on Friday, Oct. 18, as ENMU heads to Tyler, Texas to face UT Tyler with the match beginning at 5 p.m. (MST)/6 p.m. (CST).
