ENMU returns home to continue its conference season, facing St. Mary's and St. Edward's

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico have reached the halfway point of its conference schedule, returning home to face St. Mary's (Friday, October 25, 6 p.m.) and St. Edward's (Saturday, October 26, 2 p.m.). The Greyhounds will be holding Youth Night on Friday evening, with a meet and greet with the players following the match.

TUNE IN

  • Both games this weekend will be broadcast on FloSports. FloSports is the central location to watch Lone Star Conference live and on-demand events, offering a $14.99 per month pass or $99.99 per year pass. Additionally, those who use a .edu email address from an LSC member institution will be able to sign up at a discounted subscription price of $9.99 per month or $69.99 for the year.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • The Greyhounds hope to snap an eight-game losing skid, looking for their first conference win of the season. Overall, the team stands at 3-16 with a 0-8 standing. Recently, ENMU suffered a pair of 3-0 sweeps at the hands of UT Tyler and #25 DBU.
  • Leading the offense, Darcy Dodd averages just under three kills per set (2.97 k/s) as Sophia Valdez contributes 2.18 k/s. Cayla Reyes paces the Greyhounds for assists, finding 4.42 assists per set. Dodd (16) and Reyes (15) are the teams leaders for service aces.
  • Imahni Brown provides a team high 4.09 d/s, as Dodd (2.69 d/s) and Halle Sanders (2.25 d/s) also chip in defensively.

SCOUTING THE RATTLERS

  • St. Mary's also looks to snap a losing streak, falling in their last four games after winning seven consecutive games. Overall, the Rattlers hold a 12-7 overall standing with a 4-4 conference record. In their last matches, StMU fell in four sets to Texas Woman's and three sets in a road contest with Midwestern State.
  • Alicia Virthe paces the team's attack with 3.34 k/s, while Landri Withers supplies 2.74 k/s. Cali Nims is the primary setter for the Rattlers, contributing 10.79 assists per set (3rd in LSC). Virthe stands in the top 10 for service aces with 27 overall (0.39 sa/s), while Alyssa Koehl provides 22 service aces this season.

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS

  • St. Edward's come into Saturday's matchup at 9-10 on the season, holding a 1-7 conference record. The Hilltoppers are in a difficult stretch of the season, losing eight of their last nine games, including the last five games.
