Serving It Up: Lubbock Christian and Angelo State

The Greyhounds play their first home conference matches of the season

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball plays its first home conference matches of the season this Friday and Saturday as part of homecoming weekend. First, ENMU will face Lubbock Christian on Friday, Oct. 4, beginning at 6 p.m. Then, the Greyhounds will battle #14 Angelo State on Saturday, Oct. 5, with first serve set at 2 p.m.

  • Both games this weekend will be broadcast on FloSports. FloSports is the central location to watch Lone Star Conference live and on-demand events, offering a $14.99 per month pass or $99.99 per year pass. Additionally, those who use a .edu email address from an LSC member institution will be able to sign up at a discounted subscription price of $9.99 per month or $69.99 for the year.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Eastern New Mexico currently stands at 3-10 overall, while holding a 0-2 LSC standing. Recently, the Greyhounds fell 3-0 in a pair of matches against UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico.
  • Darcy Dodd leads the team 3.19 k/s, with Sophia Valdez contributing 2.38 k/s. Cayla Reyes runs the offense with 4.74 a/s, with Abigayle Falefia adding 2.98 a/s, and Angelina Sanchez suppling 1.15 a/s.
  • Defensively, Imahni Brown has a team high 4.17 d/s. Dodd (3.04 d/s), Halle Sanders (2.36 d/s), and Reyes (2.02 d/s) all average above 2.0 d/s.

  • Kiana Fallaha holds a team best 3.77 k/s, currently standing second in the conference overall (Only DBU's Delaney Fuller has more kills this season in LSC). Lily Bickley is also a key to the offense, posting 3.02 k/s. Kayton Genenbacher provides a team best 10.46 a/s (3rd in LSC).
  • Defensive Specialist Leddy Rae Guinn leads the team with 3.94 d/s, with Genenbacher adding 2.90 d/s. As for blocking, the team provides 0.54 b/s with Bickley leading the team with 26.0 total blocks, and Bryleigh Schweer chipping in with 24.0 total blocks.

SCOUTING THE #14 RAMBELLES

  • #14 Angleo State have won 11 consecutive matches to stand 12-1 on the season, going 2-0 in LSC play. The Rambelles garner a national ranking of #14 from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), with the teams only loss to Central Oklahoma (also in VACA Poll). To open the LSC schedule, ASU beat Midwestern State in straight sets, while winning a five-set thriller with Texas Woman's.
  • Madi Parrish (3.66 k/s) and (3.65 k/s) are both in the top 10 for kills in the LSC, pacing the ASU attack. Adeline Ortman leads the conference in assists, providing 529 total assists (11.76 a/s).
