ENMU play final games of the season at home this weekend

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball takes on their final home weekend of the season, honoring its graduating seniors on Saturday. First, the Greyhounds tangle with Texas Woman's on Friday, November 15, beginning at 6 p.m. Then, Eastern plays their season finale on Saturday, November 16, against Midwestern State at 2 p.m.

  • Both games this weekend will be broadcast on FloSports. FloSports is the central location to watch Lone Star Conference live and on-demand events, offering a $14.99 per month pass or $99.99 per year pass. Additionally, those who use a .edu email address from an LSC member institution will be able to sign up at a discounted subscription price of $9.99 per month or $69.99 for the year.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • The Greyhounds enter the final weekend of the regular season with a 5-20 overall record, along with a 2-12 conference standing. Both the Greyhounds wins in conference have come at home, while ENMU recently closed its road schedule with a pair of 3-0 defeats against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International.
  • Darcy Dodd paces the team for kills with 2.93 kills per set, with Sophia Valdez just behind with 2.46 k/s. Leading the team in assists and service aces, Cayla Reyes supplies 5.51 assists per set, along with a team high 24 service aces this season. Dodd is next best for service aces with 23.
  • Defensively, Imahni Brown provides a team high 3.89 d/s, while three other Greyhounds have over 2.0 d/s. Halle Sanders makes an important contribution with 2.35 d/s, while holding a team best .940 reception percentage in the back row.
  • The Greyhound's blocking is finding 1.53 b/s, with Brianna Hernandez' 0.70 b/s (49.0 total blocks) leading the team. Just behind Hernandez, Randi Crandall leads the team with 53.o total blocks, while Valdez supplies 51.0 total blocks.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS

  • Texas Woman's find themselves in good position to make the Lone Star Conference Tournament with an 18-7 overall record, and an 11-3 LSC record. Recently, the Pioneers landed 5th in the NCAA Regional Rankings, looking to make a bid for the NCAA Tournament. Prior to losing their last two games, TWU had won 11 games in a row.
  • Tori Woods stands out on the offensive end with 3.27 k/s, with four other Pioneers finding more than 2.00 k/s. Grace Reynolds paces the offense with 6.63 a/s, while Kiana Reed adds 4.07 a/s. Reynolds also leads the team with 30 service aces this season.
  • Luna França leads the defensive effort with 4.49 d/s, as Woods finds 3.10 d/s, and Reynolds provides 2.85 d/s. At the net, Cara Pool has a team best 0.98 b/s with 87.0 total blocks on the season. Kady Hansen is just behind with 0.67 blocks per set.
  • ENMU trails the all-time series with the Pioneers, 21-28. TWU has won five of the last six meetings, with the Greyhounds in 2021 during a 3-0 sweep in Portales. Overall, Eastern is 9-12 against Texas Woman's on home court.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS

  • Midwestern State come to Portales for the second time this season, previously matching up on Sept. 19, with the Mustangs winning in straight sets. Now, MSU has a 14-13 record on the season, while sporting a 6-8 conference record.
  • Riley Rabedeaux holds a team best 3.20 k/s, with Isabella Dickens contributing 2.73 k/s. Alayna Guerrero averages 6.87 assists per set, while Brooke Parker adds 5.49 a/s to the attack. Both Rabedeaux and Demi Stauffenberg have a team best 21 service aces this season.
  • On the other side of the ball, Amy DeWalt posts 3.53 d/s and Stauffenberg supplies 3.06 d/s. At the net, Gabrielle Oos and Isabella Dickens are the main blockers. Dickens leads the team with 68.0 total blocks, while Oos has a team high 0.83 b/s.
  • The Greyhounds still lead the all-time series against the Mustangs, despite Midwestern State winning the last two meetings with Eastern. ENMU are 11-10 on home court against the Mustangs, while both teams have a 16-16 record in conference matchups.
