ENMU football releases 2024 schedule

Greyhounds host five home games, including Wagon Wheel matchup in Portales

PORTALES, N.M. – Your 2024 fall plans are covered as Eastern New Mexico football will play 11 games. Today, ENMU is unveiling its 2024 schedule and releasing the sale of season and individual game tickets.

"I am ready for the fall to get here," said head coach Kelley Lee. "This season we get to play for the Wagon Wheel in Portales and I think there's a lot to look forward to for the Greyhounds in 2024."

The Greyhounds will face New Mexico Highlands for a third-straight season as the campaign begins with a road game, August 29. The last time Eastern played in Las Vegas, they came away with a 34-18 win over the Cowboys.

ENMU opens the home slate with a game against new conference foe Sul Ross State, September 7 at 6 p.m. The unique aspect with this contest is that it completes a home-and-home contract signed by the two institutions prior to SRSU becoming a member of the Lone Star Conference. This contest will not count towards conference standings.

Week two will serve as the bye week for ENMU before conference play begins.

The gauntlet of the Lone Star Conference begins at Greyhound Stadium as the Hounds welcome Midwestern State to Portales, September 21. Four of the last five games between these two teams have come down to single digits.

ENMU will head south to take on Angelo State, September 28. Head coach Kelley Lee is 2-2 in games against ASU.

Eastern New Mexico will look for its first program victory against Central Washington as the Wildcats come into town, October 5 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The Greyhounds will take their own trip to the pacific northwest as they face Western Oregon, October 12 at 2:05 p.m. MT. ENMU earned a win over WOU (30-29) during the 2023 season.

ENMU will look to win its third Wagon Wheel game in-a-row as West Texas A&M travels to Portales, October 19. The wheel currently sits at its proper place as the Hounds grabbed a 35-27 win during the 2023 season.

The next two weeks will see the Greyhounds on the road. Eastern plays in the Chile Bowl against Western New Mexico, October 26, and will play the Lobos of Sul Ross State in conference play, November 2. Last year, ENMU earned a win over SRSU in Alpine, 51-12.

Eastern's home finale is slated against UT Permian Basin, November 9. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. and will give ENMU an opportunity to reverse a four-game losing skid over the Falcons.

The final game of the 2024 season will include a trip to Kingsville, Texas as the Greyhounds will face the Javelinas, November 16.

Additional information on the 2024 football season is expected to come at a later time/date.
