TYLER, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Baseball fell, 4-3, on Friday evening UT Tyler at Irwin Field. The Greyhounds drop to 14-17, with a 12-17 conference standing. Meanwhile the Patriots shift to 19-14 overall, holding the same LSC record.
Following an empty first two frames, the Patriots struck first with a run in the 3
rd inning. After a walk and a single started the inning, UTT scored the game's first run on a sacrifice fly. The Greyhounds responded soon after, tying the game in the 5
th inning.
Tucker Gideon started the inning with a single to left field, then moved to second on a
Dylan Shea sacrifice bunt.
Landon Pyles followed with a single to the opposite field to bring Gideon around to score. The tie didn't last long, with UTT scoring another run from a sacrifice fly (2-1 UTT).

In the following inning, a timely two out double scored a pair of runs for the Patriots to add to their lead, 4-1. The Greyhounds had an answer in the next half inning scoring a pair of runs. Eastern loaded the bases with one out, after walks from
Beau Preston and Shea, while Pyles reached from an infield single.
Luciano Terilli cashed in on the bases loaded situation, singling up the middle to plate a pair of runs. The Patriots prevented any more damage with a double play to get out of the inning. The Greyhounds did get runners on base in the 8
th inning, but the Patriots held on to take the series opener, 4-3.
NOTABLE STATS
- Both teams were tight for hits, with the Patriots beating ENMU 7-6. UTT finished with a pair of doubles, while Eastern had one extra base hit.
- Pyles led the team with a pair of hits, while four other Greyhounds recorded one base hit. Terilli paced the Greyhounds with a pair of RBIs.
- Despite tossing a complete game effort, Gavin Perry is given the loss with four earned runs on seven hits, while recording three strikeouts and three walks.
- Rawley Hector earned the win, allowing two runs from four hits with three K's. Brayson Adair tossed a 2.2 inning save, allowing one run from a pair of base hits.

"A tough loss tonight," said Head ENMU Baseball Coach Riley Price. "We left too many guys on base in scoring opportunities, but we had a few barrels that just didn't fall for us. Gavin Perry threw a really good game and gave us a chance to win that one," said Price. "We need to bounce back and come out punching tomorrow,".
