OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball rounded out its weekend in Oklahoma with a 13-5 victory over Oklahoma Christian, on Sunday afternoon at Dobson Field. Eastern started quickly with four runs in the opening frame. After Luciano Terilli started the game with a single, Demetrio Archuleta drove him in with a single to center field. Willie Ponce did the same, scoring a run on an RBI single. Jonathan Baileys continued the hitting streak, launching a 2-run home run to right field, 4-0 ENMU. Both teams grabbed two runs in the third inning, with Baileys hitting their second 2-run homer of the game. Oklahoma Christian did the same in the third inning, with a 2-run home run. Eastern opened up a sizable lead in the 4th inning, plating four runs in the inning. Beau Preston and Archuleta started the inning with back-to-back hits, then Bailey drove in a run on a single up the middle. Tucker Gideon doubled off the right field wall to clear the bases and put ENMU ahead 9-4. Cooper Hamilton singled to conclude the scoring, as Gideon raced home (10-4).

FROM THE SOURCE

"Another solid performance from our hitters today," said Head Baseball Coach Riley Price. "Our pitching and defense did a great job of minimizing and allowing for us to continue tacking on runs. (Zach) Raichel did a good job for it being his first start, while Ruger Bravo and (Marc) Rios were lights out from the pen," said Price. "We had multiple guys stand out at the plate this weekend, but Johnny Baileys was our spark that continued to ignite us with some big-time hits. I'd like to see us take momentum into our next stand this coming weekend at home," said Price.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Greyhounds won the season series for the second consecutive season, winning seven of the last eight games against the Eagles. The three wins in Oklahoma mark the first road series victory over OC in program history, and ENMU now leads the all-time series 10-9.

  • On the mound, Bravo fired their second win of the season allowing no hits with a season high six strikeouts over four innings. Raichel made their first start in their Greyhound career.
  • ENMU head back to Portales for their final home series of the season against St. Mary's. The series begins on Friday, April 19, with a single game set for 5 p.m.
