PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer (1-0-1) held onto a 1-1 draw with #21 Fort Lewis (1-0-1) on Saturday afternoon at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.

The Greyhounds jumped in front with their first shot of the game, asÂ
Ben Sauerländer slotted home the game's opening goal in the 15
th minute. ENMU's defensive resistance broke in the 74
th minute, as a quick corner routine allowed a headed goal to tie the game. Neither team could find a winning goal in the final minutes, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Teddy McIntyre and
Kevin Nunez each assisted the opening goal, combining with some tight passing to put Sauerländer through on goal. Sauerländer led the team with two shots, while McIntyre,
Nick Huenig, and
Robin Vandewalle each posted a shot.
Milo Paci posted seven saves in between the posts, facing 18 shots during the match.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The Skyhawks had most of the chances, flashing 18 shots and eight on goal. Eastern compiled five shots, and three on goal during the game.
- The result is the first draw between the two programs in series history.
- Six Greyhounds played the entire 90 minutes: Mathias Fasoli, Arthur Macri, Kris McDonald, Pablo Nodar, Paci, and Loris Tsiatsipy.
