DENTON, Texas – In a back-and-forth game between the two teams, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball (12-7, 7-6 LSC) fell in a tight road contest against #2 Texas Woman's (19-1, LSC 12-1), 63-55, on Saturday afternoon at Kitty Magee Arena.

Ishuana Hunter poured in a game high 20 points for the Greyhounds (9-19 FG), while grabbing a team best seven rebounds.
Nataya Lockett (8 pts),
Abbi Holder (7 pts), and
Julieta Ceja (7 pts) all played key parts in the Greyhounds offense.
The home Pioneers had a big edge at the foul line, going 17-23 at the charity stripe compared to the Greyhounds 8-10. Texas Woman's won the battle on the glass, 40-34, while Eastern found nine steals compared to the Pioneers five. The game featured 13 lead changes between the two squads and seven tied scorers.
After leading 40-33 entering the 3
rd quarter, ENMU hit a defensive wall over the final 20 minutes against the Pioneers. TWU erased the seven-point deficit 9-0 run to take the lead early in the 3
rd quarter. The Greyhounds cut the lead to just one point entering the final period trailing 48-47. Eastern regained the lead with 7:45 left in the 4
th quarter, 53-50, following a pair of baskets from Hunter. However, TWU used a 7-0 run to go back in front, 57-53, with 3:59 left to play. Two free throws broke up the Pioneers scoring run, but Texas Woman's held ENMU for the remainder of the game, closing the contest on a 15-2 streak over the final 7:45.

- ENMU finished the game shooting 36.7% from the floor (22-60), going 3-17 from behind the arc (17.6%), and 80.0% at the foul line (8-10). Texas Woman's slashed 41.8% from the field (23-55), not hitting a three pointer during the game (0-12), while going 17-23 at the foul line (73.9%).
- Hunter tied a season best 20 points during the game, the fourth time they have scored 20 points in a game this season.
