CANYON, Texas - Eastern New Mexico University's volleyball team dropped a straight-set match to nationally ranked rival West Texas A&M (25-12, 25-14, 25-11) in Lone Star Conference action Saturday at WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box."

The Greyhounds (3-13, 1-5 LSC) were led by
Amya Speller and
Aaliyah Butler who added five kills with a .056 hitting percentage.
Sophia Valdez contributed seven kills, while
Linden Pennings recorded 4.5 points (four kills and a block assist).
Violeta Flores directed the ENMU offense with 11 assists while
Catalina Gutierrez dished out seven assists on the afternoon.

West Texas A&M (13-4, 5-1 LSC) controlled the match with a balanced attack, led by Kaycee Cavanaugh's 12 kills and Emma Becker's five kills. The Lady Buffs hit .333 for the match, the second highest hitting percentage for an ENMU opponent this season, compared to ENMU's -.032 hitting percentage. Taytum Stow was a force at the net with three block assists and five solo blocks for the home team.

The match saw ENMU struggle offensively with 25 kills against 28 errors on 94 total attempts.

Eastern New Mexico has a quick turnaround as the team will host in-state foe New Mexico Highlands on Monday, October 14, in non-conference action. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. inside the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
