PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team (4-15, 1-7 LSC) will host the UT Dallas Comets (4-15, 1-7 LSC) on Friday, October 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena for homecoming week.



Sophia Valdez continues to lead the Greyhounds offensively with 233 kills (3.53 per set), ranking third in the Lone Star Conference, while maintaining a .205 hitting percentage and contributing 63 digs. Addison Bartlett has added 139 kills (2.21 per set) and 175 digs (2.78 per set) to the ENMU effort.

Amya Speller has been a force at the net with a team-high 48.0 blocks (0.73 per set), while adding 96 kills (1.45 per set). Violeta Flores has orchestrated the offense with 295 assists (5.09 per set), while Imahni Brown anchors the defense with 294 digs (4.45 per set), ranking sixth in the conference, and leads the team with 22 service aces.

The Greyhounds have recorded 738 kills (11.18 per set) compared to their opponents' 751 (11.38 per set) this season, while posting a .124 hitting percentage. ENMU holds a slight edge in assists with 662 (10.03 per set) versus opponents' 660 (10.00 per set), but trails in service aces (94 to 120), digs (997 to 1091), and blocks (107.0 to 120.0).

UT Dallas is led by Jane Burkhardt with 232 kills (3.27 per set) and 206 digs, while Mari Hernandez anchors their defense with 342 digs (4.75 per set). The Comets are coming off a 3-1 non-conference victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday.

Eastern is looking to bounce back after dropping two conference matches last weekend, falling 0-3 to Sul Ross State and 1-3 to Western New Mexico.

Friday's contest marks the first-ever meeting between the Hounds and the Comets.

Following Friday's match, the Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 25, hosting UT Tyler at 11 a.m. in Portales.
