ENMU hosts UT Tyler for homecoming week

PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team (4-16, 1-8 LSC) will host UT Tyler (10-9, 6-2 LSC) in a Lone Star Conference match at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena for homecoming week.

Sophia Valdez continues to lead the Greyhounds' offensive efforts with 245 kills (3.55 per set), ranking third in the LSC. The standout hitter has added 70 digs and maintains a .202 hitting percentage this season. Addison Bartlett has contributed 144 kills (2.18 per set) while ranking second on the team with 190 digs (2.78 per set). Amya Speller has been a force at the net with a team-high 53.0 blocks (0.77 per set) alongside 104 kills (1.51 per set).

Violeta Flores has orchestrated the Greyhounds' offense with 313 assists (5.13 per set). Defensive specialist Imahni Brown leads ENMU with 314 digs (4.55 per set), ranking seventh in the conference, while also topping the team with 24 service aces. Linden Pennings has added 65 kills (1.33 per set) and 11.0 blocks (0.22 per set) to the Hounds' efforts.

As a team, ENMU has recorded 772 kills (11.19 per set) compared to opponents' 793 (11.49 per set). The Greyhounds hold a .122 hitting percentage against opponents' .195 and have tallied 696 assists (10.09 per set) versus opponents' 701 (10.16 per set). Eastern New Mexico has registered 100 service aces (1.45 per set), 1,058 digs (15.33 per set), and 117.0 blocks (1.70 per set).

The Greyhounds are looking to snap a three-match losing streak, with their most recent victory coming against New Mexico Highlands on October 13. Eastern dropped its latest conference match to UT Dallas in Portales on Friday evening.

UT Tyler enters the contest with a 10-9 overall record and 6-2 mark in LSC play. The Patriots are led by Autumn Perry with 208 kills (3.41 per set), 102 digs, 25.0 blocks, and 16 service aces. Kota Hartman has contributed 149 kills and 13.0 blocks, while Anna Arceneaux anchors the defense with 265 digs (4.65 per set). Audrey Brandon has been effective at the net with 38.0 blocks (0.76 per set) and 67 kills.

The Patriots have outperformed their opponents in several statistical categories, including kills (853-778), hitting percentage (.202-.184), assists (799-728), service aces (94-92), and digs (1111-1073).

UT Tyler is coming off a straight-set loss to 13th-ranked West Texas A&M.

Following this matchup, the Greyhounds will hit the road for conference matches at (RV) Angelo State and UT Permian Basin next weekend.
