PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team honored six seniors but fell in conference action Midwestern State 5-0 on Saturday at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
Senior forward
Mariana Gonzalez Jimenez led the Greyhounds' offensive efforts with two shots, while junior
Faith Zint added one shot on goal. Goalkeeper
Rosie Willmott Joyce recorded 10 saves against a relentless Mustangs attack that fired 23 shots, with 14 on target.
The Greyhounds celebrated Senior Day for

Samantha Wood,
Gaia Chies,
Kaylee Baker,
Mariana Gonzalez Jimenez, and
Louise Godden. The six seniors were recognized in a pre-match ceremony for their contributions to the program.
Eastern generated three shots in the second half after being held without an attempt in the opening period. The Greyhounds earned their lone corner kick of the match after halftime while Midwestern State finished with 10 corner opportunities.
Midwestern State (9-1-6, 9-0-4 LSC) opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an own goal before Bella Rose extended the lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute off an assist from Leeci Snyder. The Mustangs added a third goal just before halftime when Lillia Besedin found the net in the 41st minute, also assisted by Snyder.
Madison Brinkley pushed the advantage to 4-0 early in the second half with a goal in the 47th minute, assisted by Allessandra Romano. Jimena Rodriguez completed the scoring for the Mustangs in the 77th minute.
The Greyhounds' defense faced significant pressure throughout the match, with Midwestern State recording 12 shots in the first half and 11 more after the break. ENMU committed nine fouls compared to seven for the Mustangs.
Eastern New Mexico (0-16-0, 0-13-0 LSC) will conclude its 2025 campaign on Tuesday, November 4, when they travel to Laredo, Texas, for a conference matchup against Texas A&M International.
Kickoff for Tuesday's season finale is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
