PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball (9-8, 7-8 LSC) was on both sides of a high scoring doubleheader against Cameron (5-14, 5-14 LSC) on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Baseball Field. In the opening game, Cameron scored runs in five different innings to beat the Greyhounds, 12-6. In the second game, Eastern scored seven runs in the first inning, leading the Greyhounds to a comfortable 13-4 win.
GAME ONE: CU 12, ENMU 6
The Greyhounds bats finished with 10 hits in the game, producing six runs, with Cameron taking advantage of nine walks to score 12 runs from 13 hits. Three Greyhounds had multiple hits in the game:
Anthony Cortese,
Tucker Gideon, and
Luciano Terilli, with both of Gideon's hits going for extra bases. Terilli and Kiernan finished with two RBIs apiece. Â
On the hill, five different Greyhound pitchers entered the game, with
Nick Mooney starting the game (2.1 IP).

Jadon Rendon both threw 1.1 innings, and
Marc Rios faced four batters.
After Eastern scored a run in the opening inning, Cameron took its first lead of the day with two runs in the 2
nd inning. From then on, the Aggies expanded their lead with three runs in the third inning, while an RBI single from Terilli made the game 5-2 Cameron. The runs continued to come around for Cameron, scoring once in the 4
th, four times in the 5
th, and twice in the 6
th. Eastern supplied a pair of runs in the 5
th, with a Terilli single and Kiernan sacrifice fly leaving the game at 12-4 after six full innings. The Greyhounds collected two in the final half inning, as Cameron finished with a 12-6 win.

GAME TWO: ENMU 13, CU 4
Eastern sprayed the ball all over the field, finding 14 hits and scoring 13 runs. Eight of the nine batters in the lineup recorded a hit, as three different Greyhounds finished with three hits in the game.
Adrien Martin was a home run short of the cycle, finishing with four RBIs, while Kiernan and
Jalen Freeman both supplied a trio of hits.
Cole Lancaster steadily worked through the game for the Hounds on the mound, going 6.0 innings with five hits and four runs allowed.
Julian Lopez worked the final inning on the mound, retiring all three batters they faced.
Eastern wasted no time to get on the score board, scoring seven runs in the first frame. With two runners on base, Kiernan singled into the left field as both runners scored on a fielding error, and advancing Kiernan to third. Freeman doubled home a run, then Martin doubled to left field to score a pair.
Beau Preston followed with a RBI double of his own, then later scored in the inning on a wild pitch, ending a seven run first inning. Cameron picked up a pair of runs in the next half inning, but Eastern matched the Aggies with two runs in the 3
rd. Freeman led off the inning with a single, then stole second base and third base to move 90 feet away. Gideon scored Freeman on an infield single, then reached third on a failed pick off and a wild pitch. Terilli brought him in with a hard single up the middle, 9-2 ENMU.
Runs came across in five of the next seven half innings, with Cameron picking up two runs and ENMU scoring four times. Freeman picked up an RBI single in the 4th, ENMU scored a run from an error in the 5
th, while Martin had a 2-RBI triple in the 6
th inning.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Victor Munoz earned the win in the opening game for Cameron, while Mooney had his first loss of the season. In game two, Lancaster collected the win in six strong innings, while Elijah Tolsma lasted just two-thirds of an inning in the loss.
- Martin posted his first three-hit game as a Greyhound, while tallying a season-high four RBIs in game two. Kiernan set season highs for both hits (3) and runs scored (3) during the win. Freeman provided his second three hit game of the season, his first since the season opener against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
- Eastern wrap up the series tomorrow afternoon against the Aggies, facing Cameron at 1 p.m. in the series finale.
