LAREDO, Texas -
Ryan Weaver delivered a clutch two-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to lift Eastern New Mexico to a thrilling 7-5 victory over Texas A&M International on Sunday afternoon, capping the Greyhounds' 2026 season in dramatic fashion.
Weaver was the catalyst for the Greyhounds' offense, finishing 2-for-5 with five RBI and two home runs. His second long ball of the game proved to be the difference-maker as ENMU (17-33, 17-33 Lone Star Conference) held on for the extra-inning victory over the Dustdevils in the season finale.
Logan Martin and
Nicholas Miller each recorded two hits for the Greyhounds, while
Eiji Sawamura and
Isaiah Figueroa added one hit apiece.
Eastern New Mexico struck first in the top of the first inning when
Adrien Martin lifted a sacrifice fly to score Sawamura, giving the Greyhounds an early 1-0 advantage. However, Texas A&M International answered quickly, plating two runs in the bottom half of the frame to take a 2-1 lead.
The Dustdevils extended their advantage to 4-1 with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting pressure on the Greyhounds' offense to respond.
ENMU's rally came in the top of the sixth inning when the Greyhounds erupted for four runs on two hits. Weaver launched his first home run of the game, a three-run shot that gave Eastern a 5-4 lead and energized the visitors.
Texas A&M International tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning, forcing extra frames as both teams battled through scoreless eighth, ninth and 10th innings.
In the top of the 11th, Weaver stepped to the plate and delivered his second home run of the afternoon, a two-run blast that gave the Greyhounds a 7-5 advantage. ENMU's defense held strong in the bottom of the inning to secure the victory.
On the mound,
Charlie Pierson earned the start for Eastern New Mexico, working 3.0 innings while allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
Alexander Sanderson followed with 4.0 innings of relief, surrendering three runs on eight hits with one strikeout.
Micah Early earned his first victory of the season after delivering 4.0 innings of work in relief. Early allowed three hits while recording five strikeouts to close out the game.
The Greyhounds finished the 2026 season with a 17-33 overall record and a 17-33 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
