PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico softball split a twin bill with No. 13 Angelo State on Sunday afternoon in its final games of the 2026 season, falling 13-5 in five innings before bouncing back for a 5-1 in the nightcap.
GAME 1: No. 13 Angelo State 13, ENMU 5 (5 innings)
Ana Paula Oquita led the offensive charge for the Greyhounds, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI in the opening contest.
Natalie Rodarte also finished 3-for-3, while
Christina Meneses contributed two hits and two RBI.

Angelo State struck first with three runs in the top of the first inning, but ENMU answered immediately in the bottom half to tie the game at 3-3. Meneses delivered a two-RBI single up the middle, scoring
Samantha Parisi, who walked, and Rodarte, who doubled down the left field line. Oquita later plated Meneses with a single up the middle to knot the score.

After a scoreless second frame, the Rambelles exploded for 10 runs off nine hits, including five home runs, in the third inning to take a commanding 13-3 lead.

ENMU battled back in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring two runs as
Madison Begaye crossed the plate on a wild pitch and
Talia Martin drove in Oquita with a grounder to second base. However, Angelo State held on for the 13-5 run-rule victory.

Marissa Rodriguez and
Seneca Aarstad each added a hit for the Greyhounds.

Rodriguez pitched 2.0 innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Giazza Lopez allowed three runs on three hits, while
Ciara Loken gave up four runs on three hits.
Angelina Rubalcava tossed 2.2 innings in relief, allowing three hits while striking out two.
GAME 2: ENMU 5, No. 13 Angelo State 1
The Greyhounds flipped the script in the nightcap, holding the Rambelles to just four hits and one run while securing a season-ending victory.

Oquita continued her hot streak at the plate, leading Eastern with two hits and two RBI. Meneses, Rodriguez, Aarstad, Lopez and Martin each recorded a hit in the win.

ENMU wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Oquita delivered a two-RBI single to shallow right field to give the Greyhounds an early 2-0 advantage.

Angelo State responded with a run in the top of the second inning to cut the deficit to 2-1 before both teams went scoreless in the third.

Rodriguez extended the Greyhounds lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, launching a solo home run over the right field fence to make it 3-1.

After another scoreless fifth inning, ENMU added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Martin crushed a two-run home run to right field, giving the Greyhounds a 5-1 cushion.

The Rambelles managed to put two runners on base in the top of the seventh, but the Greyhounds held strong to secure the 5-1 victory.

Miranda Guillen pitched a complete-game gem for ENMU, surrendering just one run on four hits while striking out eight Rambelles batters. It marked Guillen's fifth game this season with eight or more strikeouts and her sixth complete game of the year.
Eastern finishes the season with a 20-27 overall record and 16-24 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Rambelles improve to 43-12 overall and 32-8 in LSC action.
