PORTALES, N.M. – The Lone Star Conference announced the 2026 Preseason Volleyball Polls and Players to Watch, with the Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team landing in the 17
th spot as they head into the 2026 season.

The Greyhounds received 167 points and the 17
th slot 18-team league; ahead of Sul Ross State (74 points). The preseason poll is voted upon by coaches and representatives across the league.

Three Greyhounds were named to the Players to Watch list.
Sophia Valdez was named the offensive player to watch,
Amya Speller was named defensive player to watch, and
Peyton Priddy was named setter to watch.

Valdez returns for her fourth season with the Greyhounds for her senior season. Valdez played in 101 sets over 29 games in the 2025 season, totaling 362 kills.

Speller joined the Greyhounds this past season as a transfer from Trinidad State College and is now going into her second and senior season at Eastern.

Priddy comes to the Greyhounds as a senior transfer from Adams State where she played in 41 matches, recording 920 assists and 241 digs over two seasons.

The Greyhounds begin the 2026 season at the 2026 Tiger Classic on August 27th against Hastings at 3 p.m. (MT) in Hays, Kansas at the Gross Memorial Coliseum.
