PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team will kick off conference play this Saturday in Wichita Falls, Texas against Midwestern State. The Greyhounds will look to get back in the win column after a 1-2-1 start to the season and a week off after having to forfeit Wednesday's match against UT Tyler due to injury concerns. Sophomore duo Arissa C'DeBaca and Addison Garver each have one goal for the Hounds, while freshman's Aubrie Bolanos and Raylene Carillo have an assist. Carillo leads the team in shots with eight, and shots on goal with five. Goalkeeper Aja Gonzales has 19 saves through four matches. Gonzales opened the season with a shutout against New Mexico Highlands, and allowed just a penalty kick goal in the Hound's win over Western Colorado.
The Greyhounds will face Midwestern State on the road at 3 p.m. (MT) on Saturday. The Mustangs are 5-0 to start out their season and picked up their first conference win against UT Permian Basin on Wednesday. MSU has 13 goals through the first five games and has yet to allow an opponent to score. The Greyhounds last faced MSU on Senior Day last season, falling 5-0 at home.
