PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team is set to participate in the 2026 Meadow City Classic in Las Vegas, N.M. The Greyhounds are scheduled to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. and Southeastern Oklahoma State the same day at 4:30 p.m. They will face Western New Mexico the following day at 11:30 a.m. and finally they will close out the day with a match against the host New Mexico Highlands at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern opened its season at the 2026 Tiger Classic against Hastings (Neb.) which resulted in a 1-3 loss for the Hounds. The team finished the Tiger Classic with an overall 1-3 record after dropping matches to Hastings, Regis, and Fort Hays, and winning against Truman State.
- Sophia Valdez leads the team with 59 kills (11th in LSC) and Amya Speller follows closely with 48 (10th in LSC). Speller leads the team with 18 blocks and freshman Natalie Ceniceros follows with 14.
- Freshman Sydney Pipkin has been a great asset to the team, recording 148 total assists in the last four matches (fourth in LSC). Pipkin is also a defensive leader on the team with 50 digs and 12 blocks. Jordan Garcia leads the team with 68 digs (fifth in LSC).

- Northwestern Oklahoma also enters the Meadow City Classic with a 1-3 record after playing in the Southern Invite and dropping matches to Southwest Baptist, Missouri Southern, and Missouri S&T, and winning against Northeastern State.
- The Rangers are led by Ivanny Blackwood (39 kills, 2.79 per set), Tess De Zanet (33 kills, 2.36 per set), and Andrea Djordjevic (26 kills, 1.86 per set).
- Northwestern is led defensively by Jadyn Padilla ( 67 digs) and Kemelly Baez Miecznikoski (16 blocks).

SCOUTING THE STORM
- The Storm has a current overall record of 2-2 after competing in the Southern Invite and winning against Missouri Southern and Northeastern State and falling to Southwest Baptist and Missouri S&T.
- Southeastern Oklahoma is led by Rylee Jackson (60 kills, 3.53 per set) and Gabby Jones (55 kills, 3.24 per set).
- Defensively, Patience Lewis leads with 65 digs and Nykeriah Allen leads with 13 blocks.

- In-state foe recently participated in the U Mary Volleyball Invitational in which the team left with a 1-3 record, falling to Bemidji State, Montana State (Billings), and Black Hills State, and winning against University of Mary.

SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
- Highlands holds a current record of 1-3 after participating in the Virginia Harris/Jeanie Miller Invitational. The team won against Sul Ross State and fell to Lubbock Christian, Western Colorado, and Southwestern Oklahoma.
- The Cowgirls are led by Aziza Morris (33 kills, 2.75 per set) and Lea Susoy (30 kills, 2.50 per set).
- Naya Dornic leads the team defensively with 43 digs and Lenaea Carr leads with 13 blocks.
