Biography
Career
With 1,149 kills over three season, Frye has established herself as one of the top offensive threats the ENMU program has seen. Over 92 matches, she has averaged 3.37 kills per set and has 226 blocks.
As a Junior in the 2015 Season
In an already great career at Eastern New Mexico, Lauren Frye continued her campaign through the Lone Star Conference as one of the top student-athletes in the conference. Recording a team-high 496 kills and a career-high 239 attacking percentage, Frye earned a place on the All-LSC First-Team as well as All-LSC Tournament Team honors.
Frye, an offensive cornerstone for the Greyhounds, also earned a LSC Offensive Player of the Week award for her play during the season, breaking a two year drought for Eastern and that specific honor. Her 26 kills against UC-Colorado Springs on Sept. 12 is tied for the fifth most kills in a single match.
For her career, Frye now has over 1,000 kills, entering an exclusive list of Greyhound elites. Heading into her senior year, Frye is sitting at 1,149 kills for her career and could easily jump to No. 3 on the all-time list, if not overtake spots one and two.
As a Sophomore in the 2014 Season
One of the teams most heavily awarded players of the season, Frye earned places on the All-LSC Second Team and All-LSC Academic Team as well as being named to the Emerald Beach Hotel Javelina Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament Team.Â
Appearing in 115 sets while starting in 20 matches, she led the team in kills with 325 and had a kill to set ratio of 2.83. During the season, she cracked the 20 kill mark twice, with the first coming against Fort Lewis (Sept. 13) where she had a season high 22 kills and again the very same day against Adelphi where she recorded 20 kills. Frye had 14 matches with double digit kills.
As a Freshman in the 2013 Season
Frye made the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll honors in the spring semester of her first year at ENMU. She immediately establisher herself as a force, and earned LSC Freshman of the Year honors. Frye also was selected to LSC All-Tournament Team after a strong showing in the first round. She was honored as the LSC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 22. For the season, Frye played in 101 sets over 28 matches with 27 starts and paced the team with 365.5 points, 328 kills and a .165 attack percentage. She also totaled 69 blocks, 52 digs three assists and a service ace. She debuted for Eastern with 12 kills, two blocks, an ace and assist against Southwestern Oklahoma State (9/6). Frye posted a season-high .440 attack percentage with 13 kills and three blocks versus McMurry (9/7). In the team's first LSC Tournament match in nine years, Frye led the squad with 10 kills and a .316 attack percentage at WT (11/21).
Before ENMU
Prior to enrollment at ENMU, Frye lettered four years under head coach Gary Hicklin at the Highland School, where she was a team captain. She garnered first team all-state honors in 2011 and 2012. A versatile athlete, Frye also lettered in basketball and softball and was team captain in basketball with first team all-conference honors. She also was chosen all-state her junior year. Frye also served as team captain in softball and earned first team all-conference and all-state honors her junior year.
Academic
Frye is majoring in biology at ENMU.
