Biography

2014 (R-Jr.): Starting all 11 games for the Greyhounds, Buurma led the team from under center for the second straight year.  With a quarterback efficiency rating of 169.84 (second in the Lone Star Conference), the redshirt junior went 72-for-147 through the air, throwing for 1,527 yards and 18 touchdowns, with a 138.8 average yard per game.
Buurma also showed his talent on the ground in 2014, rushing for a net total of 499 yards on 143 attempts.  On the ground the quarterback scored five touchdowns and averaged 45.4 yards per game, putting him eighth overall in the LSC in total offense with 184.2 yards per game.
Throughout the 2014 campaign, Buurma was named the LSC Player of the Week (11/17) and earned an Honorable Mention on the All-LSC team.  He was also one of three Greyhounds to be named to the LSC All-Academic team.
