AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR
Played in and started all 11 games during the 2018 season ... Completed 56-of-109 passes for 621 yards and three touchdowns ... Had 169 carries for 632 yards, averaging 3.7 yards per carry and scored seven touchdowns ... Passed for a season-high 100 yards, completed 3-for-6 with two touchdowns in a 31-14 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville ... Rushed for a season-high 98 yards on eight carries in the inaugural Chile Bowl game against Western New Mexico, which included a season-long 61-yard carry.
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE
Started all 10 games during his 2017 campaign ... Completed 52-of-96 for 783 yards and four touchdown ... Rushed for 678 yards on 157 yards on 4.3 yards per rush and six touchdowns ... Threw for a season-high 125 yards on 7-of-10 passing in the season finale against Midwestern State ... Recorded a season-high 135 yards rushing on 17 carries on Oct. 7 against UT-Permian Basin.
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN
Appeared in all 12 games in the 2016 season ... Went 64-for-115 passing with 1305 yards and 11 touchdowns ... Recorded 702 yards rushing on 152 carries for 4.6 yards per carry and 10 touchdowns ... Put together a career game in a 34-3 win over UT-Permian Basion, completed 12-of-19 passes for 260 yards and had 105 yards rushing on 21 carries and three touchdowns ... Followed it up with a career-high 265 yards passing on 12-of-19 attempts against Tarleton State ... Went 5-for-10 for 163 yards with a career-best three touchdown passes in a 53-10 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State.

At Logan Municipal Schools Strand was named NM PREPS 8-Man Player of the Year as a sophomore, First Team All-State Offense: Junior and Senior year, First Team All-State Defense: Junior and Senior year, and State Runner-ups Senior Year (2014).
PERSONALÂ
Son of Tammy Gates and Wade Strand... Double Major in Mathematics and Agricultural Science... Enjoys helping others and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes... After graduation he plans on earning a degree in Engineering... He would also like to coach at either the high school or college level.
