Andrew Cohen joins the Eastern New Mexico Baseball staff as graduate assistant coach ahead of the 2023 season.
Cohen joins the baseball staff after serving as an Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Penn. With the Devils Baseball team, Cohen planned offseason training and workout regiments, conducted recruiting of prospective student-athletes, and created rehab routines for student-athletes. While with the Devils, Cohen helped improve the staffs earned run average from 9.61 to 7.35, helping the program to a school record 17 wins.
Alongside coaching at University of the Sciences, Cohen held the role of pitching coordinator/16u coach for the Centercourt/Mercer Makos. Cohen actively assisted the recruiting effort for the Makos, contributed to offseason development plans for pitchers, and handled camp organization, equipment management, and scheduling of practice, workouts, and recover sessions.
Before joining starting their career as a coach, Cohen spend four seasons with different professional baseball teams as a pitcher. Cohen spent one season with the Westside Wooly Mammoths, in the United Shores Professional Baseball League. From there, Cohen had stints with Windy City Thunderbolts (Frontier League), Trios Rivieres Aigles (Canadian American League), and as part of the Puerto Rico AA winter league. Cohen completed his collegiate career at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.
Cohen was awarded a degree in Liberal Studies from Rowan University in 2017. Houdeshell is originally from Monroe Township, New Jersey.
