Pecos Fort is entering his second season as the graduate assistant coach for wide receivers and tight ends for the 2019 campaign.
During his first season, Fort mentored a strong wide receiver and tight end core that was led by All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention tight end Tyler Lynch.
Fort came to Portales from Adams State University as a student assistant for the offensive line unit in which he assisted in the development of all five offensive line positions while also serving as the school's assistant equipment manager. He also gained experience in the planning and coordinating of team camps throughout the summers and managed the team's presence on the filming service Hudl.Â
Prior to returning to his alma mater in Adams State, Fort served as an assistant football coach at Lovington High School during which time he served as the assistant offensive line coach for the high school program and the head offensive line coach for the middle school program.Â
Fort also volunteered his time as an assistant basketball coach for the Alamosa Family Recreation Center and worked towards building a positive team environment and solid sportsmanship throughout the young athletes that he mentored.Â
The Lovington, N.M. native earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Adams State in 2017 and will be beginning his work towards a Master's degree this fall.Â
