Tim Bowlen

Tim Bowlen comes back to Eastern New Mexico University as an assistant men's basketball coach.

He spent the 2023-24 season coaching collegiate basketball in Colorado directly after two years as a graduate assistant with the Greyhounds in Portales.

In his second year with ENMU (2022-23), he helped the team rank first in the Lone Star Conference in steals (8.2 spg), turnovers forced (16.76 pg), and rebounds (36.76 rpg). He helped coach six players who earned all-conference accolades - Errol White (second team all-LSC, all-defensive team), Jahcoree Ealy (second team all-LSC), Eze Dike (honorable mention all-LSC), Greg Johnson (honorable mention all-LSC), Jose Murillo (all-LSC freshman team), and Blazej Czerniewicz (all-LSC freshman team). 

He was a major part of the coaching staff that led the program to a 17-12 (12-10 LSC) mark and a trip to the Lone Star Conference tournament in Frisco, Texas. The twelve wins in league play are the most since the 1950's when the team was a member of the now-defunct Frontier Conference. Bowlen was responsible for managing team scouts and was crucial in aiding the Hounds to victories over then-No. 19 UT Tyler (12/15/22) and RV Angelo State (1/1/23). 

With a 73-65 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville (1/21/23), ENMU won its 1000th game in program history. The program won its most games in a single season since the 2003-04 team with a 20-9 record.

In his first year on the bench, Bowlen helped the Hounds program in all facets including: opponent scouting, player development, recruiting. organizing and orchestrating youth, high school team, and elite camps. During the 2021-22 season, Bowlen helped the development of Kentrell Pullian, who would go on to win the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year honor for the 2021-22 season and land on the LSC All-Freshman team.

Bowlen was an intern for the men’s basketball program at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA), in Westwood, Calif. before coming to the Land of Enchantment. While with the Bruins, Bowlen was responsible for breaking down opposition film, creating recruiting photos, and transporting team game and practice equipment.

Prior to UCLA, Bowlen was the head manager at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), in Indianapolis, Ind., for the men’s basketball program. Bowlen was in charge of calculating statistics and drafting weekly reports for players and staff, video review, managing social media, and coordinating travel for the Jags program. 

While at IUPUI, Bowlen earned a Bachelor's of Science in sports management in 2020. Bowlen is originally from Martinsville, Ind.
