Ben Brewer

Ben Brewer is entering his second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the ENMU men's soccer team in 2019 after a three year playing career with the Hounds.

As a player, Brewer played three seasons at forward for the Hounds and helped the team to its first appearance in the Heartland Conference Tournament in 2016. In all he appeared in 17 games for ENMU in his three year career while earning the Greyhound Club Men’s soccer scholarship for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He was a two-time ENMU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recipient (2016,2018) and also served as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for the men's soccer team in 2016 and 2017.

Brewer has also served as a sports instructor and coach for a number of organizations. Most recently, he worked as an assistant coach for the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program and led the squad to the 2019 ODP Region IV Championships. In 2017, he was a YMCA Sports Instructor in the Pikes Peak region where he supervised children aged 8-12 during full day summer sports camps. He served as a staff coach for the Fami Soccer Academy in 2016 and assisted in running training sessions for players ages 5-18. Brewer also gained experience as a staff coach in 2015 working for the Albuquerque United Football Club where he organized and ran training sessions for players ages 7-8.

Prior to joining ENMU, Brewer was a four year letterman in soccer at Cleveland High School from 2011-2014. He was a varsity captain and led his team to its first ever appearance in the New Mexico State Tournament in 2014. Brewer was a two-time All-District selection in 2013 and 2014. He also earned Academic All-District accolades in 2011 and 2014. He played eights years of club soccer in Albuquerque, N.M.
