Stanley Smith joined the Eastern New Mexico University men's soccer staff after a strong playing career with University of Houston-Victoria and brings plenty of coaching experience as well. He also served as a student ambassador at UH-Victoria's Student Success Center.
Smith came to ENMU after he served as the Texas United FC's director of operations. In this position, he planned, set up and managed all of the team's game-day events. Smith also had to adhere to all PDF regulations on field measurements before he managed the statistical crew at the home games. He also assisted with maintaining the team's social media presence before games.
In the Summer of 2016, Smith coached the Houston Dynamo club team and managed a group of players aged 5-18. He assisted these athletes in honing technique and tactics.
A four-year starter at UH-Victoria, Smith received the NAIA's Champions of Character Award as a freshman. During this time he became accustomed to leading and performing well under pressure. He also was very community oriented and was involved with Habitat for Humanity.
