Aaron Gordon joined the Greyhound Cross Country and Track & Field coaching staff in September 2017. He recently completed his second full year at ENMU in 2018-19 and primarily works with the sprinters, jumpers, and multi-event athletes. Gordon came to the Greyhounds after two strong seasons as an Assistant Coach at Bacone College.
Since coming to ENMU as the Assistant Coach, Gordon helped bring the track and field programs back into the national spotlight it was accustomed to in the 1970’s. In his first year, Gordon help guide his athletes to break an astonishing 39 schools records, two Lone Star Conference Indoor All-Time Records, and one Lone Star Conference Indoor Championship Meet Record. Along with the record break performances, Gordon was instrumental in guiding Marcus Parker to record the sixth fastest NCAA Division II Indoor 200m time and third fastest wind legal time in NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field History. He guided the Parker, the women's 4x100m relay team and high jumper Kenneth Lloyd to All-American status in his first season.
In his second year with the program, Gordon has continued to elevate the program to new heights. He helped lead the women's 4x100 meter relay team to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships for a second straight year, guiding the squad to All-American status with a fifth place finish at the national championship meet, the highest finish for a relay team in the storied history of the ENMU track and field program. Gordon also mentored Kandace Miles to All-American status in the outdoor 200 meter dash.

While at Bacone, Gordon served as an Assistant Track & Field coach and handled numerous administrative and coaching duties. Under Gordon's direction, the team set 10 school records, earned four NAIA All-American accolades, three automatic qualifiers for the National Championships, and the highest team GPA in the athletic department.
Prior to Bacone College, he served as an Assistant Coach at Augusta University where his athletes saw many successes, which are followed:

He was also a Volunteer Assistant at West Texas Wings Elite Pole Vault Club where he helped multiple achieve great feats. He had two UIL State Qualifiers, eight UIL Regional Qualifiers, three Area Champions, and five District Champions.
The Lone Star Conference is nothing new to Gordon as he competed at West Texas A&M University and was a part of the Buffalo Track and Field team from 2009-2013.
Gordon is a graduate of Clarendon High School and West Texas A&M. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M in December of 2013. Gordon also holds USTFCCCA Specialist Certifications in Strength and Conditioning, Combined Events, Vertical and Horizontal Jumps, and Technical Coaching. He is also a USATF Level 1 certified Coach.
