Mike Prokop enters his first year as an assistant track and field coach, after spending the 2021 spring track & field season as a volunteer assistant.
Prokop works with the throws team for the Greyhound's indoor and outdoor track & field programs. Recently, Prokop served as an assistant coach for Farwell High School’s football and track programs, while also serving as a teacher for financial literacy and physical education.
Prior to Farwell, worked at Portales High School as an English teacher, while as serving as an assistant coach for football and track & field. Notably, Prokop coached the Boys State Champion in the discus and shot put in 2018. Prokop brings over 40 years of coaching experience to the Greyhound staff, after holding several positions as a head coach and assistant coach in track & field and football.
Prokop is an ENMU graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1980. While with the Greyhounds, Prokop earned four varsity letters as a member of the ENMUÂ football program.
