Keyanah Browning, a native of Houston, Texas, enters her first season as a graduate assistant for Eastern New Mexico cross country and track and field in August 2023.
During the 2023 cross country season, she helped with team planning and practice. The first-year graduate assistant coach also helped with the running of the 2023 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships.
Browning comes to Portales via Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut where she was a graduate assistant coach. She helped coach mid-distance and plan team functions.
Before her coaching career began, she competed at fellow Lone Star Conference member Cameron University.
While with the Aggies, she earned three top-50 finishes in cross country and ran five different events for the track team – 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x400, and DMR. She was a member of the dean’s list for two years at CU.
In her last season in Lawton, Oklahoma, she was able to begin coaching duties as she worked with sprinters and the distance crew during a period of time where an injury took her away from competition.
In 2021, Browning earned a bachelor’s in sports and exercise science with a minor in education from Cameron.
