Before ENMU
Castaneda received an athletic letter for three years and newcomer of the year, with her team receiving District 2-6A second time all-district with Amarillo High School softball under Coach Brent Morris.

She was a member of the National Honor Society, Eveline Rivers, Snak Pak 4 Kids, Hispanic Catholic Program, High Plains Food Bank, AmeriCorps, Faith City Mission, Latin Club, Spanish Club and SADD Club.

Academics
Castaneda is majoring in biology with a minor in business.
