Chris Burks

Chris Burks joined ENMU Women's Basketball as an assistant women's basketball coach in July of 2023. Burks joined the Greyhounds following a season as the lead assistant for Our Lady of the Lake University women’s basketball program.

At Our Lady of Lake University, Burks helped guide the Saints to a 15-13 overall record and a 12-8 record in the Red River Athletic Conference. As the head assistant coach, Burks helped guide two members of the program earn all-conference recognition, including an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention for Natalia Trevino.

Prior to landing at OLLU, Burks served as a graduate assistant for University of Jamestown Women’s Basketball in Jamestown, North Dakota. Before their two seasons with University of Jamestown, Burks served in two head assistants for the women’s basketball programs of Southwestern College (July 2017-July 2020) and Schreiner University (July 2016-July 2017).

During their coaching career, Burks has recruited and signed close to 100 student-athletes, developed and organized conference and non-conference game scheduling, and led all aspects of scouting reports and scout team for practice.  

A native of Dallas, Burks earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in marketing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. He received a Master of Science in Leadership at Jamestown.
