Remi Mejia joined the Greyhounds Women’s Basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach for the 2021-22 season, and returns for their second season in 2022-23.

In their first year with Eastern, Mejia helped the program reach the postseason, advancing to the opening round of the 2022 LSC Woman's Basketball Tournament. The Greyhounds finished the 2021-22 season with a 10-14 record and had two two all-conference honorees. Iyanna McCurdy finished on the All-Conference Second Team and Natalie Stice finished on the LSC Honorable Mention squad.

Mejia comes to the Greyhounds after spending a season at Southern Oregon University as a student-athlete. In their only season with the Raiders, Mejia produced 590 points with 2.9 steals per game. The 590 points is the fifth-most in single-season history. Mejia’s set a single season record in made 3-pointers, with 101 made triples.

Prior to Southern Oregon, Mejia competed at Portland State University from 2013-17. While with the Vikings, Mejia made appearances in all three season they competed in. Mejia accumulated 133 points, 48 assists, and 35 steals in their time with Portland State.

Mejia earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice with a minor in psychology. Mejia will be pursuing a master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Administration.
