Eddie Schaeffer joins the athletic training staff in October 2023 as a part-time assistant athletic trainer. Schaeffer currently holds dual responsibility as an athletic trainer for the US Air Force Special Operations (27 SOW).
The Illinois native brings several years of experience in athletic training. He got his start as a student at Adrian College where he earned a bachelor’s in exercise science in 2016 and a master’s in athletic training in 2017.
After finishing his degrees, he began working at Albion College as an assistant athletic trainer in 2017. Over six years with the Brits, he provided injury protection to student-athletes, supervised athletic training student workers, managed secondary insurance, and worked directly with 11 different programs.
Now, he works in conjunction with physical therapists and strength and conditioning specialists with his role with the Air Force. He also helps with documentation, injury prevention, and human performance.
In his free time, Schaeffer likes to play hockey and golf. He helped Adrian College win three ACHA DIII national championships.
