Rachel Knipe joined ENMU Women's Soccer as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2024, ahead of their first season with the Greyhounds.
Knipe brings a wealth of coaching experience at the high school and club level. Knipe coached nine seasons at West Coast Soccer Club (2011-2019), running training sessions, assisting the organization of youth camps, and serving as the fitness director. At the high school level, Knipe spent three seasons at Granada High as the Head Women's Varsity Soccer Coach. In this position, Knipe ran tryouts, player selection, and managed the program for all teams (varsity, junior varsity, and freshman).
Knipe had a successful soccer career at Division I Sacarmento State University. In their decorated career with the Hornet's, Knipe led their team to two Big Sky Conference Tournament Apperances (2015 and 2016). A two year captain with the program, Knipe was selected as the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, earning 1st team all-conference honors, and garnering NSCAA All-Region accolades in 2016. Within the team, Knipe won team defensive MVP honors in 2015 and 2016, and was named Sacramento State Athlete of the Year in 2016. In the classroom, Knipe was recognized to the Big Sky All-Academic Team four times (2013-16). The defender/ centre back finished their career with 70 games played including 59 starts, playing 5,783 minutes, with four goals, two assists, and 20 shutouts defensively.
Knipe holds several certifications in various areas, including Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Performance Enhancement Specialist form the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Additionally, Knipe is CPR/AED certified
During their undergraduate career, Knipe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Sacremento State University. Knipe is currently working towards a degree at Liberity University on Human Performance.
